Start with behavior, not appearance

Describe who the user is, what they need to accomplish, what information is required and what should happen when inputs are invalid. Visual direction matters, but behavior defines whether the product works.

Keep changes inspectable

Ask for one coherent change at a time, run the relevant flow and keep version history. Smaller changes make failures easier to understand and reverse.

  • State acceptance criteria
  • Test empty and error states
  • Review data access
  • Commit known-good milestones

Treat production as a separate decision

A convincing demo is not proof of safe deployment. Authentication, authorization, secrets, private data, logs, backups, accessibility and monitoring need explicit review.
